No. of Vacancies : 2 Job Description / Responsibility * SurroundApps is a Silicon Valley and Dhaka-based provider of outsourced software services focused on the US market for the last 8 years. We are launching our own social gaming practice to showcase high quality gaming products developed in Bangladesh for the international market. And so, we are looking for some innovative and creative Game Designers with Imagination and significant experience of graphical design and development. The casual and social games will be on web and also on mobile devices, and we will train in usage of the appropriate game engine. * Experience designing usable interesting mobile or web user-interfaces are complementary skills for this position. We have openings for UI Design for our web and mobile products as well, and based on the technical depth of the candidate we may place either in a game focused or general UI/Graphics-focused position. * The designer should keep current on industry knowledge of competitive 2d/3d games, successful genres, and popular 'fun' mechanics, and will contribute to all phases of Game Design including concept inception, game systems & mechanics, story creation, level design, and game flow. * S/he should be naturally predisposed toward collaboration, invitation of peer review, and critiquing others' work in a motivating way. Also, should be capable of communicating complex game designs clearly and succinctly to both dev teams and internal leadership. The ideal candidate should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, juggling tasks effectively to meet critical deadlines with high quality. Educational Requirements Minimum Bachelor`s Degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred. Experience Requirements * Minimum 1 year(s) * The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): 3D Animation, Graphic Design (Computer Aided), Special Effect (Computer Aided) Design, Flash Design Additional Job Requirements * Game Design or Game Development experience strongly preferred. * Previous experience creating usable graphics or user interface for web or mobile apps highly preferred * Facility with game design and development required - candidates will be asked to demonstrate these capabilities during the interview process * A keen design sense, with specific knowledge of game mechanics and storytelling * Ability to create complete, engaging, educational games in a short time frame * Ability to take concepts and structure them into innovative games, activities, and simulations, using a variety of techniques and software * Interact with others with sound judgment, good humor , and consistent fairness in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment * Must possess a high level of ownership, enthusiasm, and collaborative temperament. * Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
